Capital of Gaul

The history of Lyon starts more than 2000 years ago, when it was capital of Gaul. Compared to other big cities of France, this town, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, still remains a gem of architecture offering streets edged with private mansions and small restaurants where you can taste the specialities of Lyon, where cooking is an art and where you’ll find the typical ‘traboules’ (passageways that link the buildings of the centre).
